Happy Holidays. I think.
Xbox Live was giving away UFC 141 for free if you downloaded their app. Pretty cool idea. But I thought Brock was enough to sell any PPV without promotions.
Brock Lesnar has pleaded guilty to a hunting infraction in Alberta, Canada. Lesnar was accused by of shooting a mule deer buck but only packing the trophy head. He was fined $1,725 and can't kill innocent animals with a high powered gun for 6 months.
Overeem is dogged by speculation that he has taken steroids. I wonder why that speculation exists.
Ready for a rematch? Chael Sonnen returns to TSN's "Off The Record" this Friday 12/23!!! For those of you who haven't seen the first interview here it is! Good TV. Landsberg is a dick BTW. Hopefully he pronounces Nogueira correctly this time.
Still don't get why fight commissions test for "drugs of abuse". POT DOES NOT HELP.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. plans to plead guilty to reduced misdemeanor charges in a plea deal in the case in which he allegedly battered his ex-girlfriend. He faces a range from 2 days to 18 months of jail time. Anything more than 3 months will throw a gigantic wrench into his plans to fight May 5th.
Andre Berto vs. Victor Ortiz II is going to be on Showtime. They won the fight last month (beating out HBO by 100k). With Erislandy Lara vs. Ronald Hearns on the undercard, it should be a great way to start off February.
Erik Morales was rushed to the hospital today for some type of surgery. Updates coming soon. Looks like the fight with Danny Garcia may be in question.
You would think that Lucian Bute vs. Andre Ward would be the fight to be done at 168lbs. Unfortunately this is boxing. Ward apparently doesn't want to fight Bute. So Bute will go where the money is: Bernard Hopkins. Part of me already hates watching the fight.
Andre Ward, by the way, isn't losing to anyone at 168lbs. He isn't losing to Hopkins, Dawson, or Pascal at 175 either.
One judge apparently had Ward vs. Froch even through 10 rounds. I am calling for a drug test for his blind ass.
My favorite headline from boxingscene last week? "Khan, Schaefer Push For Investigation into Peterson Loss" =).
And then there is one: Nathan Cleverly. The only Brit left standing with a world title. Who would have thought that Khan, Haye and Froch would lose their title before him?
Don't miss this
